in terms of defining the audit, how differs from the hud audit, hud has their criteria, rules, compliance procedures that they will look at. they will be looking at financial and governance of the agency. nonetheless we would go in and look at where the city has interest. this is part of the cities stock, city residents and housing. we hope that sf, with future plans of development of public housing, -- we believe that because of the departments of public health and human resources provide a lot of services to residents of this housing, the city has an interest. we also have a prior audit. we did an audit last year in response to complaints of there were problems, referral to city properties etc. there is a relationship. we focus on -- we know that hud would look at things within a certain level of criteria. i believe that there will still be areas in terms of the financial performance, financial policies, strategic planning, procurement -- there are many areas where we believe that there are benefits of looking more strategically at some of these areas. financial policies, we do have exp

i want to thank hud. i mean, hud can be harsh, but they can also be a great partner when you get them on your side. and our d.c. office as well as our san francisco office, the hud officials are to be praised for supporting this vision. because hope sf came out of the hope 6 projects. and this was naturally led -- they started these projects as early as areas in portland and seattle and chicago. and we looked -- we sent our staffs out there and we felt that promise was may rebut what i did back here. this is a great vision and something that i will be glad to not only engage in and support enthusiastically. we have dcyf, maria sue is here and she's got all of the great training programs. along with our director of work force housing. i saw rhonda simmons and her team. we've got a lot of different agencies engaged in here so that nobody sees us as just the physical part of the buildings going up. we've got lives. these kids want to be here. they see this as their long-term place. they're part of a communit

larry ferguson is here, the director of the hud 202 programs that gets the senior housing funds and an important thing to know about the hud 202 programs not only do they provide capital, but a rental subsidy. so seniors on social security, or even less income don't have to worry about whether they can make a $1,000 rent payment. they pay 30% of whatever they can pay and the federal government helps us make up the difference, so we can keep people housed. there are folks out there who understand why this is not such a great investment. so i want to take one second to tell you about this. we know there that we can save money to medicare and medicaid by housing seniors in this setting. so it's an unbelievable investment and one that i hope we'll keep on doing. hud has housing in their name. we have worked closely. fema does do temporary housing to get people into something immediately. we work hand in hand. with the tennessee floods a couple of years ago, we were looking at houses lost. a lot of people were being displaced. our great partners from hud got in there immediately with us. we were able to move people from one section 8 housing to another. they never had to go into fema housing. they did not have to move from place to place or program to program. we are able to move them into what would be their permanent homes. moving forward by that and focusing on what needs to be done as we're looking at a housing and challenges as we move forward. next we have infrastructure systems. i am not sure if anyone was able to join us from the corps of engineers. great. it is great to see you. çwe know the corps of engineers goes around the world building things and looking at roads systems, utility systems. it is not just the corps of engineers. it is looking at things we need to reconstruct. how wil
